Outfit details: Top - Milk & Honey, Skirt - Milk & Honey, Shoes - Old Navy, Bag - Forever 21, Liberty Flower Ring c/o Onetenzeroseven
This might be super weird, but I've had this outfit and my graduation dress (nail polish colors and all) set aside in my closet for weeks now! Haha. Whee! I'm just so happy! I hope you guys aren't tired of all this end of college stuff. At one point in my life I thought I would never see this day so I'm just super excited that I made it through. :) Yesterday evening I finished my last final and I am officially done with college. What?! It still hasn't hit me yet. I think it will hit me on Saturday when I get my diploma. I decided to dress up a bit for my last presentation because I was living in work out shorts and t-shirts as I studied like crazy the past few weeks. A few of my classmates even noticed that I was dressed up more than usual for class. I guess I just wanted to end college on a high, colorful, polkadot-ed note. ;-)
We were also supposed to bring treats for our class to snack on during our presentations. I decided to make a batch of muddy buddies because they are definitely a crowd pleaser. I got a little carried away and made little treat bags with a yarn bow. It was a special occasion deserving of a little yarn bow, right? ;-) I only ever make this during the holidays so it was a definitely a treat! My class loved them and we had a great time presenting our books and reflecting on our semester.
Here is the Muddy Buddy recipe that I always use from the box of cereal if you want to give them a try. The recipe makes a lot so you can share it with your friends!
9 cups of Crispix
1/2 packaged (12 oz size) Hershey's semi-sweet chocolate chips (1 cup)
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
Measure cereal into large bowl; set aside. Microwave chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter in 1-quart microwavable bowl uncovered on High for 1 minute; Stir. Microwave 30 seconds longer or until mixture is smooth. Stir in vanilla. Pour chocolate mixture over cereal in bowl, stirring until evenly coated. Add in powdered sugar and allow to cool. Store in airtight container in refrigerator.
You guys...I am just so over the moon right now.
I am currently staring at my cap and gown hanging on the hall closet door. It is so blue and baggy and I can't wait to wear it with so much pride in exactly three days. :-)

ReplyDeleteThe braid is so cute! And the polka dot skirt... sigh! I wish it was warm enough here to wear skirts without tights.
ReplyDeleteCONGRATULATIONS on graduating - it must be an amazing feeling once it hits you ;)
Congratulations!! I adore this entire outfit!! Esp. the top + bag!!!
ReplyDeleteI dress up every semester for the first day of class, so it makes perfect sense to me that you'd dress up for the very last day. Super huge congrats on completing your degree!
ReplyDeleteAlmost done! Love the bag. Afraid to try those devilishy sounding snack, cuase I'd want to eat too may in one sitting.
ReplyDeleteYou must be so excited. I remember worrying that my sock tan would show (studied agriculture and worked on the experimental farm after classes stopped and before my Hons year began - so I as in the sun all day with boots on!)

ReplyDeleteI love love love the outfit. I just moved to Fort Worth in January so I'm definitely going to have to get over to Dallas to check out Milk & Honey Boutique!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! Enjoy every moment! I've never been there but I can kind of imagine the feeling lol.
ReplyDeleteSuch a perfect outfit for last day of classes: if I saw someone wearing that at the end of a school year I'd either be sad that I'd never got to know them better, or be thrilled that we talked that one time. :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I'm so very happy for you; having dropped out of college for the time being to raise my little boy, I am vicariously enjoying graduation haha
ReplyDelete♥ ♥ hugs your way ♥ ♥
Congratulations, Meredith! You are such a cutie patootie! I love reading your blog. My daughter graduated from grad school last year and I was/am SO PROUD of her. She is now a speech therapist. I, on the other hand, was an English Lit major...so, could either serve up fries or become a teacher. I chose the latter. My best to you in your future endeavors!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I love that skirt, you look very quirkily academic ;) I make that recipe but I always knew it as puppy chow and packed it in a big bowl, I love the idea of putting small amounts in separate bags (so simple yet it never crossed my mind).
ReplyDeleteI've always known it as puppy chow too!
DeleteI'm so psyched for you! Jealous though, I graduate at the end of this year, and I'm so desperate to get to that day! Well done on getting through it all, good luck for the next stage! I'm looking forward to seeing you in your gown!
ReplyDeleteYay for graduating! And oh my goodness you just reminded me how much I LOVE muddy buddies! I know what I'm getting at the store tomorrow ;)
ReplyDeletecongrats! i love everthing; the top, skirt and hair are all just so lovely :)
