Knitting // This Miu Miu sweater is leaps and bounds out of my price range, but that doesn't mean I can't admire the knit collar, crochet border, and embroidered flowers! Such a lovely combination!
Crochet // The crochet flower garlands from Emma Lamb are so clean and vibrant. I adore her style.
Etsy // The details on this hand-stitched flower garden embroidery necklace are so delicate. Definitely a piece of wearable art!
Style // This is such a sweet outfit from K is for Kani. From the flower crown on her head, to the sweet sweater and adorable socks, I love it all.
Art // Emily of The Black Apple published a series of new paintings on her blog called "flower-ladies". Each one is magical, but I am particularly smitten with Miss Pansy and her polka dot blouse.
Food // This recipe by Whitney of Eat, Sleep, Cuddle has been on my mind for days! I have never tried a zucchini blossom before so as soon as I can find some I am definitely making a batch of these mini-quiches. You can find the recipe on Emmadime!I will always be a fan of florals. I guess that's why many-a-blush list have been inspired by beautiful blooms. :)
I hope you all had a great weekend! I certainly did. I went for a swim this afternoon and now I'm having a piece of the peach cake my mom and I baked right this minute and...yum. It is the perfect way to get a new week off to a fresh start. My goal for the week is to stay positive and try not to dwell on the uncertainties of the future. What good does worrying ever do, anyway? :)
Happy Sunday to you!

The crochet and embroidery are so springy and pretty! That mui mui sweater is to die for! I wonder if it could be recreated in a DIY scenario?
ReplyDeleteThat is a great idea!
DeleteThat necklace is the best! that's a very good idea to not worry about it! Nothing good ever comes from worrying!

I saw those mini-quiches on Eat, Sleep, Cuddle and also felt so intrigued! I really want to make some!
ReplyDeleteOne thing that has helped me from cowering in fear when looking ahead to the rest of my life is to break it down. I get way too overwhelmed when I have the mindset "what now?" or "what will I do for the rest of my life?". The beauty is, you don't need to have the answer for the forever, you can think in terms of right now. Instead of thinking about what I will do after school for the long haul, I started planning smaller adventures. The past two summers I have gone on cross-country volunteer service bicycle trips spent building affordable housing along the way. Next, I'm going to spend the summer in France studying art. In the fall I have a job lined up, then making a big move in the winter. It is much less daunting to plan smaller life-adventures that will give you the time to search and figure out where you want to be and what you want to do. Maybe you want to look into a program that will allow you to teach English in a foreign country. That kind of thing is the perfect little "big" adventure to plan and look forward to rather than freaking out about not having a full-time-real-life-forever-job right now.
ReplyDeleteAh, sorry if that came off a little preachy, but I have been super introspective lately and the same thoughts have been running through my head.

Megan, thank you so much for sharing your experience. I am definitely in the "what now" mindset. Thank you for the perspective. I will definitely work on making goals for the present instead of panicking about the future. :)
DeleteThat's funny! The message at my church today was also about worry... you can watch it here http://www.southside.org/messages if you want (it's obviously the top one, "why worry?"). Meredith, I've been reading your lovely little corner of the interwebs for a while, and I'm confident that whatever you do will be important, will be powerful, will be life-changing (for you and others), and of course will be cute and crafty. Go get 'em, tiger! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Monica! I will definitely check out that link. :)
DeleteSuch a pretty sweater with the adorable collar. Hope you have a lovely and positive week! xo Heather
ReplyDeleteI am ALWAYS on the hunt for embroidered necklaces... and I know that seems strange but I'm very intrigued by them. The one you posted did not disappoint. Also, I firmly believe Emily Martin can do no wrong.

i just graduated too and i understand exactly how you're feeling about the uncertainties of the future. It's incredibly hard not to focus on how unsure everything is and try to just enjoy each day without constantly worrying. it's nice to know someone else is in the same boat as me :)
ReplyDeleteOohh - wonderful things you found there! I really like the garland, inspires me to start one! Have a nice and relaxing week! Simone
ReplyDeleteThe necklace is so pretty...
ReplyDeleteI love Miu Miu so much and that jumper is so gorgeous! I wish I could afford something like that.
