funny face!
Oh I love New York. I can't believe last week was my fourth visit to NYC! I had so much fun seeing the sights with Danielle. Even though she is one of my closest friends last week was the first time we spent more than 30 minutes together, face-to-face! We met in person for the first time when my mom and I went to New York last Christmas. This time around we had a few days to hang out together. Thank you for being such a awesome host and tour guide Danielle! You are the best.
- On the first night after dinner we walked along the High Line gardens. The view and the flowers were just so beautiful. I wanted to stay up there near the old buildings all night. It was one of my favorite parts of the trip and it was free!
- We saw Newsies on Broadway! It was awesome. I can't believe I haven't seen the movie yet! That needs to change soon. Young Christian Bale, singing and dancing? Come on! ;)
- My favorite exhibit at the Met was Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations. Unfortunately no photographs were allowed inside the special exhibitions, but it was so so SO incredible. The fashions were jaw-dropping. I didn't expect the words and quotes from each designer to give me such inspiration. We also explored the paintings. The two above are by Vincent van Gogh and Henri Fantin-Latouer. The views from the rooftop garden were incredible!
- I went to Brooklyn for the first time this trip and had the opportunity to tour Etsy HQ thanks to my friend Cheyne, the Etsy teams coordinator and former Etsy Dallas member. It was so exciting to get the grand tour of the offices! I would love to work in such a creative environment!
Such a fun trip! I can't believe I got the opportunity to visit London, Paris, and New York this summer!
I wonder where I'll go next?
Where have you travelled this summer?

Wow what a fun trip! You got to see Newsies!! Oh that was my favorite movie growing up...I must have watched it a million times. You should definitely watch it! I would LOVE to see it on Broadway. Seriously. LOVE.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I haven't traveled at all this summer...but we are going to Six Flags in Atlanta, Georgia this Saturday. So that will be exciting! I have never been to Georgia before. :)

Gosh, I love New York with all my heart <3
ReplyDeleteI loved this post because it is so great to see New York from someone else's point of view. I have been three times now (which I think is a fantastic achievement from someone who lives in the UK ;) hehe!) and for sure I have my favourite places and areas, places that I *need* to visit whenever I'm lucky enough to be there since it is so far away from home, but I don't want to fall into the habit of never seeing anything new. So thank you for sharing your trip :)
Also, terribly jealous you got to visit Etsy HQ!!

This trip seems wonderful - that's lovely that you had such a great time!
ReplyDeleteAhh, the Impossible Conversations exhibit at the Met sounds divine. I wish I could go there just to see that!! The Met always has some of the best exhibits to me, like last year's Alexander McQueen's Savage Beauty. So amazing.
And ooh, Etsy HQ looks great! It's always such fun to see the offices of those places. :)

Wonderful images, when we lived in Boston we used to visit NY quite ofte andq it always was a fabulous visit.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy you enjoyed your time here! While you were in NY, I was in Hawaii :) Although, whenever I leave, I can;t wait to come back home.
ReplyDeleteOh so jealous! It looks so beautiful! I'm so jealous you saw Newsies on Broadway. That was one of my favorite movies growing up!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, the crocheted air vents- those are amazing! Looks like an amazing trip :)
ReplyDeleteThis all sounds and looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm so so so envious you got to go to Etsy HQ! I desperately wanted to see the building when I was in NYC with my boyfriend last summer, but the scheduling didn't work out. :( This summer has been one of my busiest and best, travel-wise. I had the incredible opportunity of visiting my boyfriend where he lives and works in Shanghai!! It was an unforgettable experience, to say the least. I also visited my family in Lyon, France, and got to go see my sister where she studies in London. I also spent two weeks in Italy, near Bologna. I have been sooooo lucky! You could say i have a weakness for traveling, and the cheap airlines here in Europe just help so much. But now, i'm broke and it's time to get serious about working and staying put! ;)
ReplyDeleteWow! Working in Etsy sounds like it would be a blast!

These are beautiful photos! I love NYC, I'm going back on Halloween and I can't wait!
ReplyDeleteI have traveled to London and Cambridge, so far this Summer, but will be going to Amsterdam and Lisbon for a couple of weekends!
Sounds like an amazing time--and we did such different things! Sad to have missed both the Met and the walk way--will have to save them for next time :) it's always a bit sad when they don't allow photos in exhibitions, but it's also nice to know that you're completely free to take it all in! x
ReplyDeleteI love these pics, they remind me of my visit there last September. The High Line is a fab idea and a place I know I'll return to (along with the brilliant Chelsea markets.) What are the mirror like shapes? A sculpture?
ReplyDeleteGAH! I haven't made it to NYC in 8 or 9 years despite living only an hour and a half away. Next time I go I need a tour guide too! Seriously. We usually just schlepped around for the day, and didn't see a lot of the sights. Looks like you had a wonderful time!
ReplyDeleteOh, oh, oh! I just found your blog and am pretty excited about reading through your archives. I have always wanted to go to NYC and in my mind, I'll be running the marathon the first time I go. I will not be taking any fun trips this summer, but that's okay because I'm a homebody anyway.
ReplyDeleteThe High Line is one of my favorite things ever :]
ReplyDeleteYour photos are stunningly beautiful, thanks so much for sharing. You have an amazing eye, I love your weekend snaps. I really appreciate that you allow us to live vicariously through you as you take your adventures. You are amazing, I can only imagine what exciting opportunities are in your future. Best wishes.

ReplyDeleteOh I just love New York! I've never actually been there, but I feel like we would be kindred spirits. So lucky that you've gotten to go there so many times! This trip looked like a lot of fun. :)
