I didn't intend to end the last day of August with thoughts of a certain holiday still several months away...it just sort of happened! Haha. I'm already excited about the holiday season so I decided to add another crochet cup ornament to my shop on Etsy! This one has a little extra spirit with an embroidered Christmas tree on the front. It reminds me of a few mugs we have in the back of our cupboard right now, just waiting for the first batch of steaming cocoa (with extra marshmallows, of course).
Have you done any holiday crafting yet? I always seem to skip over Halloween and speed right on ahead to Christmas crafts. I hope I'm not alone in my rush for the holidays and cooler weather. Please share what you are working on too!I hope you all have a great, long weekend! I'm getting ready to bake something because, honestly, what is a holiday weekend without baked goods? :)
Happy Friday!

That is the CUTEST thing ever.
ReplyDeleteThe holidays seem so far away for some reason, though I know they really are right around the corner. Sheesh how this year flew by.
Thank you Abby!
DeleteThis year is moving so fast I can hardly believe it!
I always thought I was the only person who wished away summer
ReplyDeletefor autumn to come till I started to follow your blog.
I love it when all the amazing knitwear comes into the shops and we can dig out our wool scarves, boots and coats :)
Makes me very happy!!
I've just purchased some amazing yarn to make my seasonal winter scarf, I got my eye on some more though from purl soho, It never stop.
Your crochet hot chocolate is amazing!

Haha you are not alone. I am so ready for sweaters and scarves.
DeleteYour scarf project sounds like fun. Love Purl Soho! :)
Thanks Emma!
That's so adorable! :) I actually spent part of the afternoon scouting out wool felt on Etsy. I was looking for colors to use on Alicia Paulson's ornament patterns that I bought last year but didn't have time to make before Christmas. I want to get started on them early this year so they're finished in time to use on my tree!
ReplyDeleteI'm also starting a list of gifts I need to make this year. I knit so slowly that I need to start pretty soon on some hats and things for family members. :)

Fun! I love Alicia Paulson's patterns. I'm sure they will look great on your tree!
DeleteKnit hats always make a perfect gift! :)
I don't do Christmas, but those are really clever! I found you on Twitter (you were retweeted by EtsyDallas). Love your blog and I'm looking forward to see more!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Hilary!
DeleteCrochet hot chocolate, how cute :) Your crochet ornaments are lovely. Did you create the pattern yourself? I really should be starting on my holiday gifts too. I want to have everything ready on time this year... before 2013, lol.
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of gifts are you planning to make this year?
Thank you! Yes I did!
DeleteI need to start thinking about gifts too. I would like to make some embroidered gifts for my friends this year. Hopefully I have time!
Oh how I love your little cups of cocoa - it is still August, I know, but they just have this habit of making me feel rather festive!
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog today and I can't stop clicking on things! I feel like I'm reading a blog about me... especially when it comes to all things yarn related. Even the movies, music, and fashion things you have here are things I've been obsessed with for awhile:) I am not nearly as skilled with my needles, however, so you've given me the inspiration to keep going and get better!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much James! :)
Deletehaha always the sign of a true yarnie. haha just itching for the cooler weather. i'm getting into stocking up my booth for christmas markets. will you do any this year? xo
ReplyDeleteExactly. We just like to plan ahead! ;)
DeleteI really would like to do some markets this year too!
I love this! An excellent way to use up those itty bitty scraps I can't bear to part with because I'm convinced I'll use them for something . . . this is the something!
ReplyDeleteHi! Wow... your stuff is adorable! I wish I could knit or chochet. I'm hoping to learn soon.
ReplyDeleteI was hoping that you would check out my blog too and if you like it, follow me!

Can't believe you made that yourself! It's soo pretty. I rather not skip autumn and go right to Christmas cuz that would been I'd been missing out on my own birthday!
ReplyDeleteThank you Elise! I love autumn! I wouldn't want to skip past my birthday either. :)
DeleteLove this!
ReplyDeleteSo adorable!! xo Heather
ReplyDeleteThese are the sweetest ornaments I have ever seen! I am anxious for the colder weather to come so all the hand made warm things can be shown off! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Grace!
DeleteSo cute - wouldn't a teacup set look wonderful on a Christmas tree! I LOVE Autumn and never want to miss it. As well as so much beauty and bounty there is the run up to end of year celebrations - I like the time before Christmas and all the preparations as much or even more than the day itself! Is that weird?!
ReplyDeleteMeredith, that's so cute! :D :D
ReplyDeleteNo, I haven't done anything for christmas yet, but I catch myself sometimes already thinking about christmas gifts. ;)
Best wishes, yoojin
