Journal Embroidery - A Cup of Tea

During last night's episode of Downton Abbey, I started stitching another doodle in my journal. Every time I open this journal little pieces of thread fall in my lap. I love looking back on the different pages of paper embroidery. Each one was so fun to make!

On most nights, I end my day with a cup of sleepytime tea. It is so soothing, especially with a squeeze of honey. So, for no other reason than I just really love tea, I embroidered this little teacup. Sometimes it is nice to take a minute and get creative for no reason at all. Simple things like this keep me inspired to learn more and create more. :)

What have you made lately just for fun?

  4. I so enjoy all your embroidery on paper projects. Bought some ruled paper just to try it this coming week.

In answer to your question, I've been playing in the kitchen just for fun. Trying to perfect the chocolate chip cookie; making and freezing bran muffins for breakfasts; lemon bread made from the meyer lemons loaded on our tree right now. So fun....but embroidery is fat free, isn't it?

  9. So adorable! I love, love, love tea (hence the blog name: A Tiny Cup of Tea) so I find all of this just rather adorable.

I enjoy sleepy time tea well... I usually tend to brew and drink it steaming with no honey. Honey is delicious as well though. :)

  22. Aaaw, I love your teacup so much! I also really like embroidering on paper; it feels less formal than fabric. The last thing I made just for fun was a washi tape card that I ended up giving to my friend.

  23. what a cool idea. I never would have thought of keeping an embroidery journal, that's such a fun way to see how new designs will work and practice your skills at the same time. I looked at your past posts and the "UP" house is so cool :)
